SUMMER SKINCARE TIPS
Mumbai is located along the coast and with high humidity, summers take a toll on our skin and hair every year. The scorching heat, pollution wipes off the natural glow and may invite a plethora of fungal and bacterial infections. Simple skincare tips help you evade these infections, keeping your skin healthy & glowing.
How Does Summer Affect Your Skin and hair?
With soaring temperatures and increased humidity in the surrounding, our skin’s sebaceous glands (natural oil-producing glands) start producing extra secretions (sebum).
These natural oils get stuck on the surface of the skin stickiness of skin cells, greasiness, and blocked pores which provide a favorable environment for the growth of microorganisms in these pores acne(pimples) breakouts.
These Acne breakouts are one of the most common problems that occur in warm/hot humid climates, in teenagers as well as in adults.
Exposure to harmful UV rays results in rising in melanin production (skin pigment which gives color to the skin) in order to protect our skin from sun damage. Excess melanin deposition darker, tanned skin.
Other problems can include itchy skin, prickly heat, sunburn, and rash due to sensitivity of the sun
Common infections seen during summers are fungal (ringworm) bacterial (impetigo, prickly heat), dandruff, etc.
To avoid all these issues, and to keep your skin glowing every day, follow these summer skincare tips –

Moisturization in summer is as important as in winter.
