PRE WEDDING SKIN CARE ROUTINE FOR WEDDING SEASON
The wedding day is the most precious day of one’s life. Right from selecting apt dresses, and jewelry to choosing the desired ensemble, and makeup for each occasion, all of us want to look gorgeous on all occasions for the perfect photographs. However, beautiful glowing skin completes the aesthetic looks of the bride or groom-to-be for all the rituals and ceremonies. Such glamorous photogenic skin does not happen in one day. It requires weeks to months of proper skincare routine along with adequate diet and exercise. With ongoing hectic job schedules and pre-wedding arrangements, the bride and groom hardly get adequate time to look after themselves and yet thrive for the best looks for the D day.
You need to start prepping up at least 3-6 months prior to the wedding day.
These are the tips you need to follow
1. Maintain adequate hydration and a healthy diet
· Drinking 2.5-3litres of water a day is of utmost importance to keep your skin hydrated as well as remove the harmful toxins from your body
· Avoid aerated drinks or canned juices to hydrate yourself
· When you wake up, have a glass of lukewarm water early in the morning.
· Fresh fruits and vegetables contain loads of antioxidants that scavenge free radicals in your skin and keep aging at bay
· Try to include a rainbow of vegetables. More the number of colors, and different types of antioxidants you will consume.
· Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
2. Adequate sleep and exercise daily
With the hustle of daily job routines along with shopping and pre-wedding rituals, the bride and groom are bound to get stressed and not get adequate sleep. This in turn leads to dark circles and exacerbation of pimples.
· Make it a point to see that you get at least 7-8 hours of sleep and adequate rest.
· Do spare 45-60 mins for your exercise regime daily. This will help in toning your body and increase oxygen supply to the skin.
3. Fix an appointment with A Board-certified Dermatologist
Depending on your skin type your Dermatologist will advise you proper skincare regime.
This includes Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing, and UV rays protection.
Additional prescription medicines may be needed if you suffer from pimples, dry skin conditions, unwanted wrinkles, pigmentation, etc.
Also, procedures routinely done by the bride and groom-to-be are:
Fruit peels
These are done to remove blemishes/pigmentation, suntan, and acne marks. Peels also induce new collagen formation thereby treating fine lines.
HydraFacial
This is a scientifically proven procedure to cleanse, detoxify and nourish your skin without the use of creams or bleach.
It also stimulates muscles and increases blood supply to the face.
It can be done 7days prior to any function.
Skin polishing (microdermabrasion)
This is a skin rejuvenation procedure that can be done for all skin types.
It exfoliates dead skin cells revealing smooth skin underneath.
The face, hands, legs, chest, and back can be treated with it.
Laser hair reduction
Needs to be started at least 6-8 months before.
It is indicated in the following people
· If you have excessive facial/body hair
· Beard reshaping of the groom
· Ladies with PCOD, hirsutism
· If you are suffering from the ingrowth of hairs
· Patients of hidradenitis suppurativa (multiple boils in the axilla, buttocks)
· Patients with pilonidal sinus.
Mesotherapy
This procedure involves the infusion of micro vitamins and serums into the skin giving you glowing skin.
It can be done for everyone with any type of skin texture or color.
Vampire facial
It’s a skin rejuvenation procedure that induces new collagen formation.
It requires monthly sessions (at least 4 sessions for noticeable effect).
